Paul Tshuma's Inspiring Journey
“ In my wheelchair, I feel very limited… but in the boat, I feel like I'm floating in the air. I feel free! ”
In 2013, Paul Tshuma discovered adaptive sailing thanks to an occupational therapist. What he thought was impossible gradually became reality: despite his very limited mobility, Paul learned that he could control a sailboat simply by blowing and sucking through a straw.
“ When they told me I could sail by blowing through a straw… I couldn't believe it. ”
In this touching video, Paul tells us about his first sailing outing, that unique feeling of freedom and the welcome he received within AQVA's program.
“ What I love about AQVA is the atmosphere with the instructors. You don't feel different – they're there for you, as a sailor. ”
Discover his story and see how, thanks to adaptive sailing, Paul was able to realize a dream: doing what others do, in his own way.
